Getting ready for a night on the tiles? Then stick on these dirty little numbers to get your blood pumping...

Words By David Hillier

There's a world of new music out there: who's really got the time to wade through it to find some pearls to get you ready for a night out?  Uhm, well, us.  Here's five (mostly) new tracks that can't fail to get you going this weekend.

OFF! Void You Out

The musical equivalent of a quintuple espresso and four Wham bars, this 1.10 minute vignette is a grotty punk stomper that has been known to inspire uncontrollable moshing. For fear of spillages, should only be listened when wearing dark clothes.

Radkey- Romance Dawn

You like Queens Of The Stone Age. You also like Iggy Pop. We know that. The best song to stomp to since Franz Ferdinand released ‘Take Me Out’ back when skinny ties were cool.

Augustines- Nothing To Lose But My Head

If at any point of your life you’ve listened to The Gaslight Anthem and given a victory fist pump, then listen to this last thing before you go out.

Eagulls-Possessed

There’s a very real possibility that the long awaited debut album from the Leeds boys might end up being the best British rock and roll debut of the year. Don’t let the presence of guitars that could be described as shoegaz-y put you off. It’s a massive tune with more than a hint of best-Smiths-Marr in the guitar line.

Tensnake ft Nile Rodgers and Fiora- Love Sublime

If the last four tunes got you down and dirty in the basement, this’ll get you high and mighty on the 50th floor. Guess the Rodgers part (clue: it’s really easy to spot).
